Meet the Speaker: Lisa Shpritz from Bank of America

As companies begin to invest and promote sustainable business, Lisa Shpritz, Senior Vice President and Environmental Business & Engagement Executive at Bank of America, is at the front of the initiative. During her fifteen years working within Bank of America, she has accomplished many notable environmental advancements for the company. Recently, she celebrated one of her proudest professional moments, when Bank of America announced it achieved carbon neutrality at the end of 2019, a goal which she helped set in 2016. Through tracking the company’s environmental impacts, including greenhouse gas emissions, water usage, waste and recycling, Shpritz helped strategically allocate resources and technology to meet the company’s ambitious carbon goal.
Now, she continues to support her company’s $300 billion environmental business initiative by speaking about the company’s commitment to sustainable finance at events around the country and coordinating conference sponsorships. Additionally, as a liaison from the Global Environmental Group to the company’s ninety two markets across the US, she supports local environmental events and engagement. Through her work, she is able to share Bank of America’s mission and raise support for financing low-carbon and sustainable business practices globally. Furthermore, she works with Bank of America’s procurement group to minimize environmental impacts and to further the sustainability of vendors who provide goods and services to BofA.
Shpritz’s passion for the environment began as a child. She actively participated in sustainable efforts, such as the recycling and ecology club at her school. During her time at college, she studied biology and environmental management. Now, outside of her job, she volunteers for environmental organizations and local community gardens, and works to raise awareness about environmental issues in her community.
Both in and out of the workplace, Lisa Shpritz encourages sustainability and environmental consciousness in all aspects of one’s life. As she continues making positive strides at Bank of America, she is hopeful for a more sustainable future.
