The Cleantech Corner Initiative is a year-round program that includes the UNC Cleantech Summit, the largest cleantech event of its kind by a university in the United States. The two-day Summit is a collaboration between the UNC Institute for the Environment and the Ackerman Center for Excellence in Sustainability (ACES) at the Kenan-Flagler School of Business.

The Cleantech Corner strives to foster initiatives throughout the southeastern United States by identifying and highlighting SMEs and startups that are dedicated to furthering a sustainable future. By increasing the visibility of such companies, our team attempts to accelerate innovation in the region and build an interconnected community of cleantech pioneers. We envision the Southeast as the next hub for the revolution in clean technology and aim to nurture this rapidly developing innovation ecosystem.

The student-run Cleantech Corner also serves as a think-tank positioned in the North Carolina Research Triangle region. Our team of forward-thinking students hopes to create an incubator and support structure for this growing network of clean technology startups and SMEs in the Southeast. We seek to garner bipartisan support with our vision of development spillover into rural areas and workforce stimulation.

The Cleantech Corner connects innovators with students, inspiring and guiding them to lead the next generation of change. Explore our website, engage with us, and learn how our region is driving innovation to a cleaner world!
