Biography

Paul Dobbins, Senior Director, Impact Investing, and Lead Specialist for Seaweed and Shellfish Farming, World Wildlife Fund, Washington DC

Paul joined the World Wildlife Fund to develop impact equity investing as a new practice and act as lead specialist for seaweed and shellfish farming. Before joining WWF, he spent a decade leading the development of the US’s first commercial kelp farms and was a mussel farmer in Maine.  Prior to returning to the ocean, Paul was a Managing Director at IDEXX Laboratories, focused on the development of animal health products and service businesses for both the companion and production animal sectors.

Paul served on the advisory boards of Maine SeaGrant, the Aquaculture Research Institute at the University of Maine, Maine Aquaculture Association, The Maine Technology Institute, The Conservation Law Foundation, the boards of several private companies, and currently serves on advisory boards and working groups for the International Commission for Exploration of the Seas, Alexandra Cousteau’s Oceans 2050 organization, Manomet, Fed Blue, and six EU and US government grant-funded projects related to sea farming and ocean health.
