Biography

Greg Bohlen is Co-founder and Managing General Partner of Union Grove Venture Partners [UGVP]. Established in 2014, UGVP has delivered 29% net IRR across all funds with an 8x realized gross MOIC on direct investments – achieving number one for five separate fund-of-funds across various categories (according to Cambridge Associates).

Prior to UGVP, Greg was Managing Director for Morgan Creek Capital, expanding their venture exposure and raising a $106M fund that became number one in its class. Previously, Greg was a Portfolio Manager at Wasatch Global Investors, initiating and leading the venture investment category, Cross Creek Capital. Early in his career, as the 23-year-old President of Findlay Bancshares, Greg was the youngest board chairman and bank president in the FDIC system.

During Greg’s 30 years in banking and venture capital, he has invested in over 60 venture-backed companies and successfully taken 24 companies public, including startups like Sourcefire, Samba TV and Beyond Meat. For Beyond Meat, Greg led the investment for rounds C, D, and F, resulting in the most successful public offering in the previous 20 years. Even beyond its market success, Beyond Meat also opened a new category of investment in plant-based alternatives and was pivotal in Greg’s shift to focus on green businesses that accelerate a healthy and sustainable planet.
