Biography

Dhruv Agarwal is Senior Director of Global Innovations, Sustainability, and Product Development at Kontoor Brands. Agarwal has over 20 years of experience in the textile and materials industry. At Kontoor his primary focus is driving sustainable innovation and development for iconic American denim and lifestyle brands Lee and Wrangler. Dhruv has been a leader in designing and launching programs that enhance Kontoor’s commitment to sustainability. Most recently, he has been focused on promoting US sourced cotton in textiles and expanding sustainable and regenerative agricultural practices in cotton production. In 2021, Dhruv was recognized as a member of Rivet 50, one of the top 50 influencers globally in the denim industry. Over the last few years, Dhruv has championed the greater use of hemp fibers in US textiles as a sustainable alternative to traditional raw materials. He also has spearheaded projects such as Kontoor’s Indigood which significantly lowers water usage during fabric production and circularity initiatives that seek to decrease the amount of textiles destined for landfills. Over the course of his career in the textile and apparel industry, Dhruv has been responsible for sustainable innovation, product and process development, process engineering and optimization, and enterprise-wide quality control. As a textile leader, he has led global cross-functional initiatives to drive strategic innovation and transform high-performance product lines. Prior to his role at Kontoor and its former parent company VF Corp, Dhruv held senior roles at several leading companies including Albany International and Reliance Industries. Dhruv holds a Bachelor of Science in Textile Engineering from The Technological Institute of Textiles & Sciences and received his MBA from the Goa Institute of Management. He holds multiple patents and patent applications.
