Chris Mesrobian

Senior Director of Business Development

Monolith Corporation

Biography

Chris Mesrobian is the Senior Director of Business Development at Monolith Materials, a company focused on producing essential materials needed for everyday life, but without the emissions. Chris engages with potential partners to find mutually beneficial opportunities to utilize Monolith’s commercial-scale methane pyrolysis technology to reduce emissions, reduce costs, and enable the energy transition.

Chris joined Monolith in 2015, in the early days of a startup which is now recognized as a global energy transition leader. He was hands-on in developing Monolith’s technology and then scaling it from lab to commercial scale, being named on many of Monolith’s patents. Chris was a leader during the startup of Monolith’s first commercial-scale facility that is now operating. This facility serves as the model for expansion and replication to begin meeting the global demand for carbon-free hydrogen and carbon black.

Before Monolith, Chris spent over 15 years taking technologies from the lab to commercial scale, specializing in fluid and thermal systems. During his career, Chris put first-of-its-kind systems into commercial operation for various applications, including power generation, biomedical products, military, and chemicals manufacturing.

He received his B.S. and M.S. in Engineering Mechanics from Virginia Tech, where he led research on vertical take-off and landing aircraft with Boeing and DARPA.
