Biography

Chris Fox was appointed HanesBrands’ chief sustainability officer in 2020. His current responsibilities include oversight of the company’s worldwide sustainability strategy, programs and long-term goals, which are focused on People, Planet and Product. Prior to being appointed the company’s chief sustainability officer, Fox was vice president, global corporate social responsibility (CSR), for 15 years. His areas of focus included HanesBrands ethics, factory compliance, product safety, environmental sustainability and philanthropy programs.

Fox joined HanesBrands in 1999 in the company’s legal function. He represented the company’s supply chain and business development teams in Asia ahead of being named vice president, corporate social responsibility in 2005.

In his legal, CSR and sustainability roles, he has worked and traveled extensively in Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, Australia and Africa.

Fox received his bachelor’s degree in economics from the College of William and Mary in 1989 and his juris doctorate and MBA from Wake Forest University in 1993.
