Biography

Mitch Spence joined UNC’s Institute for the Environment in February 2020 as a business services coordinator. Spence assists the Institute with financial controls and reporting, department-level human resources functionality, procurement and provides general business support.

Prior to his employment with UNC, Spence served the City of Savannah as a human resources analyst supporting the Savannah Fire and Savannah Police departments. He is proud to continue a career in public service with the University of North Carolina and contribute to the Institute’s critical mission and goals.
