Antonio Rodriguez

Biography

Tony Rodriguez started working at the UNC Institute of Marine Sciences in 2005 after spending five years as an assistant professor at the University of Alabama, Department of Geological Sciences. Rodriguez’s research emphasis is on estuaries, and he collaborates with many colleagues at UNC examining the multifaceted impacts of human activities and climate change on salt marshes, oyster-reefs, seagrass beds, deltaic systems and beach environments. His retrospective methodology relies on interpreting the sedimentary record. He is currently a full professor and serves as the associate chair of academic programs in the Department of Earth, Marine and Environmental Sciences.
