Biography
As the Environmental Defense Fund’s (EDF) associate vice president for state affairs, Hawley Truax is responsible for expanding the influence, visibility and effectiveness of EDF in North Carolina and the southeast region. He serves as an ambassador for all of EDF program priorities including climate change, clean energy, ecosystems, health, environmental justice and sustainable fisheries.
Truax works closely with EDF’s staff and strategic partners to engage in work across each of the organization’s core program areas. He is a liaison to the North Carolina Advisory Board and cultivates collaborative relationships with leaders in the public and private sectors.
