G. Allen Ives III

Biography

Allen Ives was elected to the UNC Institute for the Environment Board of Visitors at the October 2017 meeting. His term is through June 2021. Ives lives in Rocky Mount, NC, and is chairman of Turnpike Properties (Winston-Salem), a large real estate investment and management company owned by the family of the late Earl Slick. Ives is married to Lynn Cowell Ives, the granddaughter of Mr. Slick. Lynn serves as the vice president and director of the Slick Family Foundation. Prior his appointment as chairman of Turnpike Properties, Ives served as president. In addition to his work with Turnpike Properties, he serves as director of real estate for Slick Enterprises. Ives received his Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1988. His wife Lynn is a 1990 graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill and their son George IV graduated from UNC in 2018.
