Biography
Amy Galey grew up in Union Ridge in Alamance County. She graduated from Western Alamance High School, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of North Carolina School of Law. She is licensed to practice law in North Carolina, South Carolina and the District of Columbia.
Amy was elected Alamance County Commissioner in 2016. She was Chair of the Alamance County Board of Commissioners from 2017-2020.
As a legislator, she secured funding for her district in the 2021-2022 budget, including $15 million for an EMS facility for Alamance County, $15.8 million for water and sewer projects for Burlington, $800,000 for volunteer fire departments, $541,447 for the Town of Green Level, $2 million for the Snow Camp Fire Department, $21 million for a water treatment facility in Mebane, $500,000 for water and sewer improvements for Haw River, and $10 million for water treatment in Graham.
