Help us reach our GiveUNC goal on Mar. 28!

March 3, 2023 Save the date for Give UNC!

Mark your calendars for Mar. 28 and help the UNC Institute for the Environment exceed our fundraising goals for GiveUNC—UNC-Chapel Hill’s 24-hour giving challenge.

The Institute has consistently landed on the leaderboards in multiple categories for number of gifts raised and total dollars raised. Last year, the Institute was in the top 10 for “total dollars” among all units and institutes out of a field of more than 30. In addition, the Institute unlocked all of its challenge gifts totaling $135,000.

GiveUNC, Carolina’s university-wide day of giving, engages alumni, friends, faculty, staff and other Carolina supporters to invest in the causes they care about most.

As a partner, here is how you can help spread the word.

  • March 6: Post GiveUNC graphics on your social media accounts and encourage others to save the date.
  • March 13: Post a reminder
  • March 20: Tell everyone how excited you are for GiveUNC
  • March 28: Share content from IE Facebook, Twitter and Instagram throughout the day. Post that you’ve made your gift and encourage others to do the same.

Together we can make this the most successful GiveUNC to date!

The UNC Institute for the Environment (IE) fosters and conducts collaborations with faculty, students and staff across the university to identify and solve the world’s environmental challenges and sustain and improve the environment.

The IE develops multidisciplinary collaborations to understand major environmental issues and engage myriad academic disciplines, public and private partners, and an informed and committed community. Through IE’s air and water research centers, our public service and outreach, field sites and experiential education programs, and Sustainable Carolina, the IE provides interdisciplinary forums for faculty, students and community partners to meet pressing environmental challenges.
