Zachary Kuznar, PhD., works as the Director of CHP, Energy Storage and Microgrid Development for Duke Energy. In this role he focuses on business case development, technology evaluation and regulatory initiatives for Distributed Generation in all of Duke Energy’s regulated service territory. Previously he worked in the Emerging Technology Office and managed a number of energy storage field installations. He also has experience in the fossil generation business unit. Prior to joining Duke, Zak worked in the Advanced Materials division of General Electric. Zak is on the Advisory Board of the Lugar Center for Renewable Energy at IUPUI, and is on the Dean’s Advisory Council for the School of Chemical and Paper Engineering at Miami University. Zak holds an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University, and a Master’s and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Yale University.
