Tom Cyrs

Biography

Tom Cyrs is a Research Associate with the WRI United States Program, where he leads efforts to identify opportunities to reduce emissions through federal, state, and local climate policies and evaluate their impacts. He works with partners in industry and academia to aggregate, analyze, and model non-federal and federal climate policy and action in the U.S. and is a core member of America is All In analytic team. He also leads research on opportunities to decarbonize transportation and other hard-to-abate emissions sectors using clean and low-carbon fuels such as biomethane and hydrogen in U.S. states and regions.

Tom has experience in policy and data analysis, program administration, and the promotion of sustainable environmental practices both in the U.S. and abroad. Prior to WRI, he served internationally as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer and as an intern with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Clean Energy and Water Program in Armenia.

He holds an M.S. in Global Affairs with a focus in energy and environmental policy from New York University.
