Steven McNulty


USDA Southeast Climate Hub


Steven McNulty is a United States Federal senior scientist and the USDA Southeast Climate Hub Director.  He has a Ph.D. in Natural Resources and has co-authored over 300 publications on climate change impacts and ecosystem adaptation strategies during his 30+ years with the USDA. Dr. McNulty has served as the acting director of the Forest Service Northern Research Station and Forest Products Laboratory, US Congressional Fellow, Editor and Chief of the Journal Climate, Climate Change Chair of the North American Forestry Commission, an Expert with the International Union of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO),  United Nations, FAO, and the National Climate Assessments (NCA, including the coordinating lead author for the current, NC5 Southeast Region). He is the recipient of US Forest Service Distinguished Scientist Award, among other honors.
