Biography

Steve Ihnot is the Chief Financial Officer of juwi Inc (“juwi”). Steve has over 20 years of experience in the electric power business, including that last 15 years in renewables, in various roles in finance and development both in the United States and internationally. At juwi Steve is responsible for leading the commercial components of the development, construction and operations of the company’s projects, including raising investment capital, debt financing, and contract negotiations. This experience at juwi includes successfully closing more than 500MW of utility-scale PV transactions valued at greater than $1 billion since joining juwi in 2009.

Prior to joining juwi, Steve served as the Chief Financial Officer for Mesoamerica Energy in San José, Costa Rica. Mesoamerica Energy (now Corporación Multi-Inversiones) is a developer and operator of renewable energy projects in Central America. Steve joined the company in its start-up phase in 2004 and helped grow the company to 23MW of operating assets and several hundred megawatts of development pipeline (325MW of which have since been constructed). Steve was responsible for finance and development duties with the company.

Steve began his career in the electric power business at Entergy Corporation in the mid-1990s with various roles within corporate finance, and concluded his career at Entergy as a Director in the Mergers, Acquisitions, and Structured Finance group supporting the company’s international operations. Following his work with Entergy, Steve served as a Director of Finance for TECO Power Services out of their offices in Guatemala City, Guatemala. In this role, Steve had responsibilities for financial matters relating to the company’s three assets operating in Guatemala and supported project finance efforts for TECO’s U.S.-based development projects.

Steve holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA with a concentration in Finance and Environmental Management from the University of Texas at Austin.
