Biography

Scott Martin is VP of Market Development at Durham-based NET Power. NET Power is commercializing a new type of natural gas power cycle that inherently captures carbon dioxide while producing low-cost dispatchable power. Scott has a decade of experience in designing, demonstrating, and commercializing transformational clean tech. He currently manages NET Power’s interplay between market, regulatory environment, and product development. He lead’s NET Power’s strategy, origination, and business intelligence work as well. He served previously as Director of Hydrogen Market Development at Mitsubishi Power, and at 8 Rivers as a Principal Engineer on the Allam Cycle and NET Power’s demonstration program and other key technologies in 8 Rivers portfolio. Scott graduated from Duke University in 2014 with a major in Mechanical Engineering and minor in Chemistry. He has worked previously on biofuel technology at NASA, combustion design at GE Aviation, and electrofuels process design at Duke. In 2017 he was named a Forbes 30 under 30 recipient in Energy. Scott currently lives in Durham, NC.
