Biography

Miles Braxton serves as a business development analyst on the Sol Customer Solutions (SCS) team. Miles helps to investigate and engage potential clients in emerging solar markets, in addition to leading SCS’ business-to-business proposals in select markets across the country. This entails conducting early-stage project financial analysis, designing solar arrays, and conducting market research.

Prior to joining Sol Systems, Miles completed a renewable energy fellowship at ITility, where he helped a small project management team convert 220 tons of chicken manure into 2 MW of electricity through anaerobic digestion processes in a contract with the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA). There, he focused on chemical analysis to ensure the proper yield of biogas at each chicken farm.

Miles recently graduated from the University of Virginia with a B.S. in Environmental Science with a concentration in atmospheric sciences. Through the Technology Leaders Program at U.Va., he concentrated in renewable energy. At U.Va., he founded and led an organization, Black Leaders for Environmental Sustainability (BLES), that works to install interactive renewable energy systems on campus grounds and encourages minority students to increase their sustainability awareness and efforts. Miles is currently pursuing a certificate in Financing and Deploying Clean Energy through the Yale Center of Business and Environment (CBEY).

Miles has participated in professional engagements at the University of Virginia, Yale’s School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs, and Duke’s Nicholas School of the Environment.
