Marshall Conrad

Biography

Marshall Conrad is the Director of Government Relations for Strata Clean Energy, where he leads the Government Relations team focusing on policy and strategy at the state and Federal level. Prior to joining Strata, Marshall served as the policy advisor to House Majority Conference Leader and Energy and Public Utilities Chairman, Representative John Szoka, in the North Carolina General Assembly. During his time at the General Assembly Marshall helped oversee the implementation of Competitive Energy Solutions for North Carolina (HB589), participated in the NC Energy Regulatory Stakeholder process, and was a lead-staffer and advisor to North Carolina House leadership during the recent stakeholder process for Energy Solutions for North Carolina (H951). Before his time at the General Assembly, Marshall was in private legal practice, focusing his practice mainly in the areas of criminal defense and elections/campaign law. Marshall has worked on and acted as a legal advisor to numerous campaigns, ranging from local municipal elections to state-wide races. Most recently, Marshall served as campaign manager to Rep. John Szoka, planning and organizing a winning campaign, in the most competitive North Carolina House District during the 2020 cycle.

A native of North Carolina, Marshall graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Campbell University and later received his Juris Doctorate from Campbell University’ Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law.

Marshall currently lives in Johnston County, NC with his wife Brittany and their twin boys, Parker and Warren.
