Olee Joel Olsen is the CEO of O2 emc as well as the founder and president of O2 energies which are headquartered in Cornelius North Carolina near Charlotte.
O2 emc is an Independent Power Producer that develops, owns and operates more than 150MW of Solar farms across the Southeast. The company has successfully raised more than $300 million in project financing since 2009.
A native of Charlotte, Joel graduated from Myers Park School and received a degree in International Studies from UNC Chapel Hill. After University, he worked abroad in both Japan and Norway for more than 15 years before returning to Charlotte to work as the director for development and government relations at Sencera, a Charlotte based solar module manufacturer.
Joel has served on the executive committee of the North Carolina Clean Energy Business Alliance, on the Z Smith Reynolds Community Leadership Council, and as a board member of the the North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association. Joel is a recipient of the Charlotte Business Journal Energy Leadership Award, and O2 emc has received the North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association Business Innovation Award.
