Biography

Jake Higdon is the U.S. Manufacturing Advisor in the Office of the Under Secretary for Science and Innovation at the Department of Energy. In this role, he advises the Under Secretary on efforts to utilize DOE’s innovation portfolio to strengthen domestic supply chains for the energy transition. Jake also supports the design and implementation of clean energy manufacturing programs, such as those passed in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act.

Previously, Jake was Manager for U.S. Climate Policy at Environmental Defense Fund, where he led research on federal policies to ensure an equitable energy transition, spur clean manufacturing, and develop, demonstrate, and deploy clean energy technologies. He also has conducted climate policy analysis at the Center on Global Energy Policy, Data for Progress, and the Federation of American Scientists. During the Obama-Biden Administration, Jake served in the White House Office of Energy and Climate Change and the U.S. Department of State.
