Biography

Diane Huis is the Vice President of Resource Planning and Portfolio Management for the NC Electric Cooperatives.  In this role, she is responsible for making sure that the wholesale power supply portfolio can help meet the mission of providing reliable, safe, and economical energy and related services to the members in North Carolina.   This involves planning which type of generating resources and wholesale purchases and sales should comprise the portfolio, including which fuels should be utilized, and managing risks associated with those resources.  She is currently a member of Leadership North Carolina’s Class XXV.

Diane lives in Raleigh, NC, with her husband and has two children with the youngest about to graduate from App State.  She is an avid cyclist and runner, and is the captain of a cycling team which has raised over $250,000 for the American Diabetes Association.  Diane graduated from Georgia Tech with a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of NC.
