Biography

Brian Standen is a creative executive technologist who brings over 20 years of experience in digital technology and innovation in emerging solutions at the intersection of science, information and business. In his role as Head of Scouting and Partnerships for the Digitalization in R&D department of BASF, Brian is responsible for building collaborations with academic institutions, early stage ventures and established companies to strengthen BASF’s digital capabilities which enable the continuous advancement of science. Prior to his current role, Brian was the Head of Computational Biology for BASF Enzymes, LLC, Director of Information Systems and Technology for Verenium Corporation and an independent technology consultant. Brian received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology and English from the University of Colorado at Boulder and his Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill Kenan-Flagler School of Business.
