Mr. Ives began his career as a structured finance lawyer on Wall Street. At age 30, he was recruited to be the founding Head of Structured Finance at Kennedy Covington in Charlotte. Under his leadership, that group closed over $200 billion in transactions and achieved a top ten national ranking from The American Lawyer. He later joined First Union Institutional Debt Management (IDM) as a Managing Director and led IDM’s integration into MassMutual’s Babson Capital division. Mr. Ives spent four years in London managing Babson’s acquisition of Duke Street Debt Capital Management and heading European Sales. While at Babson, Mr. Ives was involved in the acquisition of Barings from ING and earned the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation.
Mr. Ives has served on numerous industry, educational and non-profit boards where he has provided leadership on ESG issues.
