Research Interests
The Rodriguez Lab generally uses the principles of sedimentology and stratigraphy to examine the response of coastal depositional environments to sea-level rise, changes in storminess, and human impacts. We study all coastal environments from rivers to the inner continental shelf. Research is field based and we collect a variety of different types of data, including sedimentologic, radiometric, seismic, and remote sensing.
Research and Activities
- Human impacts on coastal sedimentation
- Response of Barrier Islands to storms and sea-level rise
- Oyster reef growth
- Salt marsh evolution
