Biography

Amber Hewett is the National Wildlife Federation’s Offshore Wind Energy Campaign Manager. She started her career in NWF’s National Advocacy Center in Washington, DC before returning to her hometown of Newburyport, Massachusetts to focus specifically on advocating for the responsible development of the nation’s largest untapped clean energy solution: offshore wind power. For six years, she has worked to advance state policies that will both launch a robust U.S. offshore wind industry and ensure wildlife, habitat, and communities are protected throughout every stage of development. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a B.A. in Political Science and a B.S. in Earth Systems. A sailor with an intrinsic love of the sea, Amber brings a deep passion for ocean conservation to her work – “What better way to celebrate the marine environment than to replace polluting, climate-disrupting energy sources with its clean and inexhaustible power?”
