Biography
Natalie Murdock is a member of the North Carolina State Senate, representing District 20. She assumed office on April 1, 2020 and was re-elected in 2022. Her current term ends on January 1, 2025. Prior to becoming a senator, Murdock was the Durham County soil and water district supervisor, which allowed her to work with the county board to deliver programs to local farmers and to also work with local community members on water concerns.
Murdock is principle and chief strategist for Murdock Anderson Consulting (MAC) and is responsible for building partnerships with minority and rural communities with government agencies, non-profits and private corporations. She previously worked for the North Carolina Department of Justice as deputy director of communications.
In addition to her service on the IE BOV, she serves on the N.C. Forever board which seeks to help lawmakers and executive branch leaders understand the importance of protecting our natural resources.
Murdock earned a bachelor of arts in political science and communication studies from UNC-Chapel Hill. She completed graduate work at Pfeiffer University in leadership and organizational change, and at Western Carolina University in public administration.
