Biography
Kendrick C. Fentress is currently attorney and special advisor for clean energy deployment in the State Energy Office of the N.C. Department of Environmental Quality. Previously, during her nearly 14 years at Duke Energy, she has represented the company before the North Carolina Utilities Commission in matters involving the purchase of renewable energy, energy efficiency efforts, electric vehicles and affiliate matters. Prior to her time at Duke, she served 10 years on the public staff of the N.C. Utilities Commission, where she worked on behalf of the using and consuming public. Fentress also serves on the board of N.C. Communities in Schools, a non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping students stay in school and succeed in life.
Fentress graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in history in 1988. She graduated from the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond with a J.D. in 1994.
She lives in Raleigh, N.C. with her two sons and her husband, Brandon Fentress.
