A graduate research fellowship at one of the Institute for the Environment’s field sites will enable recipients to use and expand Carolina’s vast environmental research to help solve complex environmental issues that are unique to a particular field site. Graduate research fellows will use tools to help them measure, understand, and communicate environmental impacts while working for 1 to 2 years with Carolina faculty.

Program Cost: These expendable funds can pay for over a five-year period.

$50,000 expendable fund – Support one graduate research fellow for one year.

$100,000 expendable fund – Support one graduate research fellow for two years.

$200,000 expendable fund – Support two graduate research fellows for two years or support one graduate research fellow annually for four years.
