Come anytime during that window of time as class permits!

Are you interested in experiencing the wonders of North Carolina’s “Crystal Coast”?

Plan on attending the Morehead City Field Site information session next Wednesday!

The Fall Field Site (Fall 2018) will involve five courses that are rich in hands-on field experiences, exposing students to estuarine, coastal wetland, saltmarsh and oyster reef habitats.

The Morehead City Field Site is housed at the UNC Chapel Hill Institute of Marine Sciences, which is located on 6.5 acres of waterfront property on Bogue Sound.

Did you know that the UNC Chapel Hill Institute of Marine Sciences is nestled along the coast, and works closely with four other marine and coastal research organizations (Duke University Marine Laboratory, NC State Marine Laboratory, NOAA Beaufort Laboratory, NC Division of Marine Fisheries) that you can benefit from?

Gain valuable training and have the opportunity to develop an independent research project in applied issues such as water quality, conservation, aquaculture, public health, habitat restoration, ecosystem services, renewable energy, climate, climate change, hurricane and storm surge modeling, and coastal physics. There are plenty of hands-on research, modeling, field work and state-of-the-art laboratory techniques to assist you in career preparation.

Our students gain valuable addition experience in SCUBA, molecular biology, coastal geology, stormwater and wastewater management, and a wide range of field techniques, and go on to amazing careers!

We hope to see you there and come hungry!!
