2018 UNC Science Expo: IE Presents E-Cigarettes, Flavorings and the Toxicology of Vaping
April 14, 2018 @ 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

The 2018 UNC Science Expo will take place on Saturday, April 14 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the campus of UNC-Chapel Hill. The UNC Institute for the Environment will be featuring the research of Dr. Ilona Jaspers, who, among other roles at UNC, is part of the Center for Environmental Health and Susceptibility and Deputy Director for Environmental Medicine, Asthma and Lung Biology. Dr. Jaspers’ work over the past decade has studied the effects of smoking, air pollution, and nutrition on the respiratory tract. More recently, her research on the health effects of e-cigarettes has made key contributions to, what is still, a limited body of knowledge on vaping. Join us at the IE Science Expo booth to learn about e-cigarettes, flavorings, and the toxicology behind this emerging public health issue.
Admission is free and open to the public.
