The Director’s Fund

The Director’s Fund is a newly established fund that allows the IE’s director the flexibility to address the immediate needs of the institute at the time the funds are received. As the fund grows, it will also allow the director to plan for future projects for the upcoming fiscal year.

Here are examples of uses of the fund:

Support an IE Director’s Fellow program

An undergraduate intern would be selected each year to work alongside the IE director. This is a unique experience for an undergraduate student interested in the environment and a significant benefit to IE through increased capacity.

This giving opportunity can be funded at the following levels:

$5K annually with a $25K pledge$10K annually with a $50K pledge

Fund a post-doctoral research associate

A post-doctoral research associate would devote half their time to idea generation and proposal writing to foundations and individuals. There is a clear Return on Investment for IE from both financial and intellectual perspectives

  • $25K annual one-time gift would support the associate at 50% for one year
  • $50K gift over two years would support the associate at 100% for one year or at 50% for two years
